Pirate Borg - Session 5
François and Elizabeth went to Governor Claude Barlette to report their success in clearing the cultist temple. However, the governor was displeased, as he had specifically requested live cultists for interrogation, not a demon’s severed head. Despite his frustration, he offered a small reward for the head.
Returning to their ship, Red Monolith, they were surprised to find Isabel alive and back aboard. The crew spent time shopping for supplies and recruiting new members to bolster their ranks.
With their numbers restored, the crew deliberated on their next move. Deciding not to linger on the island, they set sail for Nassau on New Providence Island, a haven for pirates and privateers, reachable in just a day’s journey.
During their journey to Nassau, the crew noticed they were being followed by a ship made entirely of bone, constructed from the remains of the dead. Unwilling to engage in open waters, the Red Monolith maneuvered between smaller islands in the Bahamas, eventually docking at a small settlement under an English flag.
As they docked, the settlement’s dock master approached to collect the standard docking fee. However, Anne Wright, one of the new recruits aboard the Red Monolith, chose violence. Without warning, she attacked the dock master, severing his arm at the shoulder. This quickly escalated into chaos.
Three nearby redcoats opened fire, with one frantically ringing a bell to raise the alarm. What initially seemed like a straightforward raid turned disastrous as at least ten more redcoats emerged from nearby houses, firing upon the crew.
Realizing they were outnumbered and outgunned, the crew retreated to the Red Monolith and made a hasty escape. Amid the mayhem, François was struck and killed by enemy fire.
After a tense journey, the Red Monolith finally arrived at Nassau. To dock as a trusted vessel, they were required to pay a 100 silver fee, securing their place in the pirate haven.
Upon arriving in Nassau, the crew of the Red Monolith explored the bustling pirate haven, stocking up on supplies—including a few chickens.
As they searched for leads on potential jobs, an older pirate, known as The Devil Fish, approached the crew with a proposition. He shared information about a former crewmate of his, Esteban Rodriguez, also called Señor Knife, who was currently held in Havana. According to The Devil Fish, Esteban possessed knowledge of the location of a buried treasure. Intrigued but cautious, the crew considered this lead as a potential next venture.
