Pirate Borg - Session 7

The crew brainstormed ways to approach the bishop and settled on inviting him to their ship for dinner, claiming they needed a blessing after a recent pirate attack. They promised a donation to the church in exchange for his service.

When the bishop arrived, accompanied by soldiers and priests, he blessed the ship, and the crew gifted their cargo of lumber. Over dinner, the crew discussed their interest in work, and the bishop, recognizing his former crew mate The Devil Fish, quickly deduced that they were after privateering.

He revealed that the rumored buried treasure was tied to a place of cold, death, and horror: C'Thagn, an unholy city on an island that occasionally submerges beneath the waves. The city was home to The Wretched, the cult at the heart of the worship of the Elder Gods, and was their main stronghold.

After hearing the bishop's offer of a larger ship, the crew decided to decline, recognizing the complications of piracy while being accompanied by a Spanish warship. They bid the bishop farewell and set course back to Nassau to seek easier prey.

In Nassau, they heard rumors about a cardamom trade between Guadeloupe and the other side of the Atlantic, which they decided to disrupt. Additionally, there were reports of green lights in the jungle on New Providence Island.

The crew sailed around the island, eventually landing near the location of the green lights. They came upon a canoe brought ashore from a nearby lagoon. When they approached, a voice from the forest warned them to turn around, followed by the sound of weapons being trained on them. Never ones to back down, the crew launched an attack.

It turned out to be five Englishmen. After a brutal fight, the crew killed two and captured a third. The remaining two fled. The captured man revealed that he was the captain of a ship currently at sea, and agreed to cooperate in exchange for his life.
