Pirate Borg - Session 7

The crew brainstormed ways to approach the bishop and settled on inviting him to their ship for dinner, claiming they needed a blessing after a recent pirate attack. They promised a donation to the church in exchange for his service. When the bishop arrived, accompanied by soldiers and priests, he blessed the ship, and the crew gifted their cargo of lumber. Over dinner, the crew discussed their interest in work, and the bishop, recognizing his former crew mate The Devil Fish , quickly deduced that they were after privateering. He revealed that the rumored buried treasure was tied to a place of cold, death, and horror: C'Thagn, an unholy city on an island that occasionally submerges beneath the waves. The city was home to The Wretched , the cult at the heart of the worship of the Elder Gods, and was their main stronghold. After hearing the bishop's offer of a larger ship, the crew decided to decline, recognizing the complications of piracy while being accompanied by a Spanish wa...

Pirate Borg - Session 6

The crew of the Red Monolith set sail for Havana but quickly realized they faced a significant problem: they lacked legitimate papers to verify their identity or origin. Embracing their pirate nature, they decided to resolve the issue by capturing another ship. Hiding behind a small island near Cuba, just a day's journey from Havana, the crew waited for a suitable target. After three days, they spotted a brigantine—a ship slightly larger than their sloop—sitting low in the water, suggesting it was laden with valuable goods. The crew attacked decisively, successfully overtaking the vessel. Some of the captured crew willingly joined the Red Monolith ’s ranks, while the rest met a grim fate. However, managing both ships proved impractical with their limited crew. Weighing their options, the crew decided to return to Nassau to recruit additional hands despite the risk of being discovered while undermanned. The crew of the Red Monolith returned to Nassau with their captured brigantine...

Pirate Borg - Session 5

François and Elizabeth went to Governor Claude Barlette to report their success in clearing the cultist temple. However, the governor was displeased, as he had specifically requested live cultists for interrogation, not a demon’s severed head. Despite his frustration, he offered a small reward for the head. Returning to their ship, Red Monolith , they were surprised to find Isabel alive and back aboard. The crew spent time shopping for supplies and recruiting new members to bolster their ranks. With their numbers restored, the crew deliberated on their next move. Deciding not to linger on the island, they set sail for Nassau on New Providence Island, a haven for pirates and privateers, reachable in just a day’s journey. During their journey to Nassau, the crew noticed they were being followed by a ship made entirely of bone, constructed from the remains of the dead. Unwilling to engage in open waters, the Red Monolith maneuvered between smaller islands in the Bahamas, eventually docki...

Pirate Borg - Session 4

Following the descending steps, the party arrived in a vast cavernous room. At its center lay a massive golden disc, surrounded by 12 obsidian pillars near the walls. Grooves in the floor ran from each pillar to beneath the disc. Bound to the pillars were prisoners, each with a hooded cultist hovering above them, bleeding them as part of a dark ritual. Their blood flowed through the grooves toward the disc. At the far end of the room, another cultist was in hushed conversation with a four-armed, elk-horned, stone-skinned demon. The party launched a surprise attack, swiftly killing the cultist near the demon and throwing the room into chaos. A prolonged battle ensued, with bullets, spells, swords, and daggers flying. By the end, only the demon and the party were left standing. Seeing the demon as an overwhelming threat, Jéan, the cabin boy, managed to pacify it by tossing it body parts to eat after it awoke from a sleep spell. However, Jean Morél opposed the idea of leaving a demon aliv...

Pirate Borg - Session 3

The party decided to investigate the abandoned lighthouse as a vantage point to watch for the rumored green light. Exploring the dilapidated building, they found a journal from the former keeper, Cornelius Willem, detailing a conflict with his daughter, Famke, over a man she was seeing. The journal’s last entry, written shakily, was incomplete. At the top of the lighthouse, they found the smashed light and a broken section of railing, signs of an apparent struggle or attack. Suddenly, they were attacked by strange seagulls with missing legs and bizarre features like beaks made of forks and nails. After narrowly surviving, they discovered unusual treasure in the birds’ guts and leveled up. Back on the ground floor, the party explored the cellar, taking two barrels of grog for their ship. They also uncovered a hidden passage to a small cave with a compass rose carved on the floor, surrounded by black candles—a clear sacrificial site that could amplify spellcasting. When night fell, ...

Pirate Borg - Session 2

The party fought off the undead in the cemetery tunnels, discovering a stash of grave loot, including a necklace granting temporary invisibility. Using it, Francois sneaked undetected through an old, unused door from the tunnels into the church, where he noticed that Father Wallace kept his chambers locked—unlike Rupert’s. Later, the party met with Billy and his two co-conspirators, Edward and Martin, to overthrow The Black Diamond's captain and crew. They set up an ambush near the abandoned lighthouse, pretending to drink and relax around a fire to lower the crew’s guard. At the right moment, the party struck, swiftly killing the captain. In a prolonged fight, Francois showcased his sharpshooting skills, and by the end, nearly the entire crew was dead, including Billy. Only Edward, Martin, and Gaspar survived. With the captain defeated, “The Bride” took command as the new captain of The Black Diamond , under the agreement that the crew split all the loot equally. After taking co...

Pirate Borg - Session 1

The party joined The Eye of Chaos  as temporary recruits to reinforce the crew. During their voyage, they fought and won a naval battle against two enemy ships. They then arrived at Coral Town on Black Coral Bay, where Captain Davies dismissed them, explaining he only needed extra hands to ensure safe passage. Now free in Coral Town, the party learned that governor Claude Barlette is searching for his missing daughter Veronique and is offering a reward of 2000 silver for any useful leads. Isabel "The Bride" Bernard went to Shanty Town, where she met Billy, a crew member of The Black Diamond . Looking for a ship, she agreed to help Billy overthrow his captain the next night. Esther Lopez infiltrated the Governor's mansion, where she found the staff acting unusually slow, dim-witted, silent, and foul-smelling. She slipped into the library, found an arcane ritual, and escaped unnoticed. Francois Baker explored the cemetery and entered a mausoleum. Inside, he discovered a...
